RoHS-WEEE Mode. The term RoHS-WEEE is associated with regulatory requirements for the sale and disposal of electronic equipment in the European Union. However, this mode is not limited to this application: it designed to test materials that are made from either metal, plastic, wood, or some combination of “heavy” and “light” materials for restricted elements. It automatically detects what type of substrate is present and uses the appropriate hardware and software settings. This mode can be customized for the elements displayed and PASS-FAIL action levels, depending on the regulations. The readout is in ppm or % for high concentrations.
