XRF Analysis of UNS_S30400, Austenitic Cr-Ni Stainless Steel (304)
This material was identified as UNS_S30300, and not UNS_S30400 probably due to the presence of 0.3% Molybdenum, which is allowed in the specifications for 303 Stainless, but not included for 304 stainless. Note the other trace elements (Cu, V and W), observed at longer acquisition times, are in neither of the alloy specifications, but help define limits of detection for the XRF instrument.
